High School diploma or GED equivalent
Two (2) years of customer service or healthcare experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of basic medical terminology
Strong Organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Basic computer keyboard skills
General knowledge of office machines, including printers and scanners
Preferred Qualifications:
Epic
Experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment
Additional Information:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides friendly, efficient, and professional customer service to the public. Answers telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
Identify and refer patients and/or responsible parties to appropriate sponsoring agencies
Process high-risk pre-certifications and referrals accurately and in a timely manner
Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and agencies to ensure efficient referral processes
Develop and implement denial avoidance plans to minimize denials and ensure appropriate patient care
Maintain thorough knowledge of insurance guidelines and requirements
Prepare daily deposits and complete the appropriate paperwork to submit daily by the deadline
