Roche Sequencing Solutions, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer at its Santa Clara, California location.
Duties: Plan, design, develop and test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and provides functional guidance. Analyze business requirements/processes and system integration considerations to determine their feasibility, compatibility with current systems, architecture standards, and provide appropriate technology solutions. Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conduct analysis to determine integration needs. Design documents for new features and implement concept generation. Work with Scrum master and release train manager to divide the tasks into smaller tasks, estimation and assignments. Develop microservices using Spring, Spring boot, Java 17, RESTful web services and PostgreSQL. Review code and unblock from technical blockers. Provide support to quality assurance to complete feature testing. Conduct AWS Services such as: S3, EC2, VPC, EBS, ECS, ECR, EKS, CloudWatch, Route53, IAM, CloudFront, Aurora, Auto Scaling, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway, Secret Manager, Elastic cache and Open Search.
Education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or similar technical field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineer, Technical Engineer, Technical Architect or closely related position.
Specials Skills Requirement: Employer requires 2 years of experience in each of the following:
Building regulated software as medical device products using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud & Hibernate;
Backend development integrating medical imaging formats (DICOM, TIFF, Philips isyntax);
Cloud native software development utilizing AWS services and spring boot based microservices;
Archival knowledge building workflows relevant to digital pathology;
Building features relevant to Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML);
Agile methodologies (Scrum) and cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers, Business Analysts);
Database technologies including Oracle and PostgreSQL;
RESTful webservice;
Kubernetes and Docker.
Less than 10% domestic travel, fully reimbursed.
Position allows 100% telecommuting from anywhere within the U.S.

Offered annual salary for this position based on the primary location for this position of Santa Clara is $226,158 per year. Salary will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location and other job-related factors permitted by law.
