Roche Molecular Systems, Inc. seeks a Manager Policy Communications at its Pleasanton, CA location.
Duties: Develop and implement integrated communications strategies, goals, and objectives aligned with business priorities and functional requirements, with an audience-centric approach. Support high-value, impactful external and internal change communications, establishing and managing an end-to-end integrated communication plan, including appropriate metrics to enable continuous improvement aligned with business needs. Act as trusted partner for leaders across the organization at national, regional and global levels, to advise and coach them in effective building and protecting of company’s reputation, managing business crises when needed. Engage workforce and empower leaders to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences and to maximize interactions with multiple stakeholders. Maintain broad-based knowledge of the Diagnostics areas of focus and priorities, and use communications insights, metrics, and expertise to translate complex topics into clear messaging and positioning that reinforce company’s reputation. Stay abreast of internal and external developments, industry trends, as these pertain to strategic communication and ‘new ways of working’ priorities. Engage and manage relationships with vendors across the globe to develop communication assets to support affiliates. Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week.
Education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field, and 5 years of post-baccalaureate and progressive experience in the position offered or a closely related communications position in the healthcare industry.
Special Requirements: Employer requires experience in each of the following areas:
1. Working within healthcare field (pharma and diagnostics) to communicate medical information to support business needs and objectives within applicable healthcare regulations and industry trends,
2. Ensuring effective management of a business’s reputation, engaging and communicating with multiple stakeholders, managing potential crises, writing effective messaging, and handling media relations in a highly regulated and sensitive industry,
3. Communication, public relations, and working with internal/external stakeholders and media in developing markets,
4. Creating effective communication strategies and assets that are tailored to different global markets,
5. Drafting editorial/journalistic works that convey complex information, shape public perception, and showcase and advocate for specific topics or changes and
6. Applying Agile methodologies.

The expected annual salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of Pleasanton, CA is $151,290 to $179,400 per year. Actual pay within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
