Job Summary:
The Specimen Receipt and Processing Associate supports the routine receipt, verification, and handling of clinical specimens to ensure accurate processing and timely workflow. This role helps maintain a safe, organized work area while following company procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Receive consignments and shipments of clinical specimens and related materials
- Open shipments and perform quality checks of patient information forms, escalating missing/incorrect information or damaged shipments to senior staff
- Conduct secondary checks of shipping materials to ensure specimens are not left in kit packaging
- Dispose of and/or recycle kit shipping supplies according to procedure
- Support after-hour alarms and other job-critical functions as assigned
- Assist with routine equipment upkeep and general workstation cleanup
- Support supply inventory activities and maintain an organized work area per management direction
- Perform administrative tasks as required and complete work in accordance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines
What We Are Looking For:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Proficiency with basic computer applications for data entry and routine documentation
- Ability to follow written procedures, maintain accurate records, and support workflow control and reporting
- Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:
- Strong attention to detail to identify discrepancies in patient information and shipment condition
- Ability to prioritize routine tasks and maintain steady workflow in a fast-paced receiving environment
- Effective communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients
- Commitment to safety practices and maintaining a clean, organized workspace
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $24,400.00 - $50,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
