Position Summary
The Senior Human Resources Generalist is a hands-on HR leader responsible for ensuring consistent and effective execution of people practices across the business while providing insights that support informed decision-making.
This role serves as a critical bridge between strategy and execution, translating HR priorities into day-to-day actions at the plant level. While not responsible for setting strategy, this position plays a key role in operationalizing initiatives and bringing forward real-time feedback from leaders and team members.
Success in this role requires strong visibility on the shop floor, credibility with leaders, and a proactive approach to driving a positive team member experience aligned with business outcomes. The role is expected to spend a minimum of 30% of time on the shop floor, actively engaging with team members and leaders.
Key Responsibilities
HR Execution and Operational Excellence
- Ensure consistent execution of core HR processes including employee relations, performance management, compliance, and policy application
- Manage and resolve employee relations matters in a timely, fair, and consistent manner
- Lead investigations and corrective actions with sound judgment and proper documentation
- Administer HR programs such as leave of absence, accommodations, and policy interpretation
- Partner with internal teams to ensure accuracy in payroll, benefits, and HR data transactions
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure compliance with applicable employment laws
Leader Support and Enablement
- Provide daily guidance to leaders on employee-related matters
- Coach leaders on performance management, feedback, and development practices
- Support leaders in handling complex or sensitive situations
- Reinforce consistency, accountability, and fair application of policies
Team Member Experience and Engagement
- Maintain a visible and consistent presence on the shop floor, spending at least 30% of time engaging directly with team members and leaders
- Act as an approachable HR partner and trusted resource
- Foster a respectful, inclusive, and high-performing work environment
- Support engagement initiatives and action planning based on feedback
- Identify trends impacting morale, retention, and overall experience
Talent and Workforce Support
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and leadership on hiring, onboarding, and internal mobility
- Support workforce planning, talent reviews, and succession efforts
- Help identify development opportunities to strengthen team capability
Insights and Continuous Improvement
- Analyze trends in turnover, engagement, performance, and employee feedback
- Provide actionable insights to leaders and HR leadership
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency
- Support implementation of enterprise HR initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience in a manufacturing or operational environment preferred
