Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a 3rd shift Senior Manufacturing Supervisor at our facility in Windsor Locks, CT.  We’re looking for a passionate professional to accept a high level of responsibility within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  As a Senior Supervisor, you will provide direct supervision of hourly employees within the Advanced Manufacturing and Special Process operations area for the Air Management Systems business. The associates in that cell manufacture Heat Exchangers for many military and commercial applications.  Responsibilities of the role will include workforce management, work assignment, productivity, providing commitments, compliance, safety, training, lead Tier 1 and Tier 2 meetings and coordinate cross functional team to ensure on-time delivery and quality of a highly complex product family.  Manage workforce disruptions, complete RCCAs and ensure continuous improvement of cell for flow, lean etc.

The Senior Supervisor must be able to work on-site full time and start the shift for your staff at 11:30pm daily.  A rotating weekend coverage schedule is shared amongst the team, where this position will only have to provide partial weekend support, with flexibility to adjust/swap coverage dates with teammates.

What You Will Do

  • Provide leadership and clear direction to hourly employees on 3rd shift.

  • Motivate and foster a positive work ethic and high team engagement.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with our CORE operating system and Roadmap objectives.

  • Drive sustained improvements in safety, quality, production efficiency, material flow, and cost reduction.

  • Coordinate and execute daily supervisory responsibilities including communication with support groups, project management, and issue resolution.

  • Establish effective work schedules and prioritize workflow based on customer demand and available resources.

  • Conduct daily toolbox and team meetings to ensure alignment and responsiveness to shifting production needs.

  • Address any issues and engage the workforce in achieving cell goals.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and proactive problem-solving.

  • Maintain strict adherence to Quality and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards.

  • Timecard and attendance management.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

  • Ability to work 3rd shift hours (11:30pm - 7:30am).

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Previous experience with the supervision of hourly employees including work assignment & productivity management, safety/compliance/quality, and overall engagement

  • Previous experience with fabrication, welding, brazing or special processes

  • Experience working and leading a cross functional team through RCCA, Lean, Process Improvement

  • Background in manufacturing including machining, welding, fabrication & special process preferred

  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
