What You’ll Do
As a Diesel Mechanic Helper, you'll play a critical role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing, or assisting in, repairs, inspections, and safety checks on diesel vehicles.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
- Using vehicle computer systems to interpret failure codes and adjust engine and vehicle control modules.
- Assisting in responding to road calls and performing emergency repairs as needed.
- Reviewing, completing, or assisting with repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Completing required documentation in fleet maintenance software systems.
- Test-driving vehicles after repairs and services.
- Interacting professionally and courteously with drivers.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant work area.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
What We Need From You
- Experience with diesel diagnostic tools, preventative maintenance, and repair.
- A basic personal tool set.
- Hydraulic system experience is a plus.
