2026 Summer Legal Extern

Work Period: June 1 - August 21, 2026

Location & Schedule: This is an approximately 40-hour-per-week position with minimum 3 days per week onsite in our Boston office. There is no relocation or housing assistance offered for this position.

Compensation: This is an unpaid position. You must be eligible to receive academic credit for the externship. Sonos will work with the student and their law school to support academic credit requirements, including learning objectives and evaluations as needed.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Legal Extern, you’ll be able to:

  • Conduct legal research on commercial, intellectual property, data privacy and security, and supply chain matters. 

  • Assist in reviewing and drafting various agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, SaaS, vendor agreements, dealer and distributor agreements.

  • Review marketing collateral and communications for compliance and internal policy adherence.

  • Assist in preparing materials for litigation and dispute resolution, including conducting legal research, drafting memoranda and other written work product, reviewing relevant documents, and supporting responses to subpoenas and other third-party requests.

  • Support the legal team in compliance and regulatory matters, including analyzing laws and policies affecting the consumer electronics industry.

  • Gain experience and exposure to a wide variety of practice areas while supporting cross-functional stakeholders (go-to-market (GTM), corporate, privacy, supply chain, licensing, IP, etc).

Qualifications

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being able to take ownership of projects.

  • Excellent legal research and writing, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment.

  • Interest in gaining hands-on legal experience in a corporate environment.

  • High degree of intellectual curiosity and adaptability.


 

PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current 1L at an ABA-accredited law school; strong academic performance.

  • Available to participate in our full-time intern program from June 1 - August 21, 2026.

  • Eligible to receive academic credit.

  • Ability to work out of our Boston office a minimum 3 days per week.

  • Authorized to work for any US employer, both now and in the future.  Sonos is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role at this time.
