Vast is seeking a Business & Supply Chain Intern to support daily supply chain operations and business planning activities across the organization. This internship offers hands-on experience in demand planning, supply chain analytics, and cross-functional business operations within a fast-paced aerospace environment. Interns will work closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, and Finance teams on real projects that directly impact program execution.

This is a 12-week full-time internship at our office in Long Beach, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics coordination, inventory management, and demand planning activities.
  • Assist with demand forecasting, material requirements planning (MRP), and supply-demand balancing to support production and build schedules.
  • Help maintain and analyze demand signals, Bill of Material changes, lead times, propose safety stock values, and inventory levels across programs.
  • Compile, analyze, and visualize supply chain and business data to support operational and planning decisions.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives to improve forecast accuracy, material availability, and overall supply chain performance.
  • Assist with documentation of supply chain processes, KPIs, assumptions, and planning methodologies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on data accuracy, workflow efficiency, and scalability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Long Beach, CA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship, project, or coursework experience in supply chain, demand planning, business operations, or business analytics.
  • Experience with data and analysis tools such as:
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups; macros/VBA a plus)
  • SQL for querying and analyzing datasets
  • Data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
  • Familiarity with forecasting, inventory management, or capacity planning concepts.
  • Exposure to ERP, MRP, or planning systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar).
  • Ability to translate data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Interest in aerospace, manufacturing, or high-growth technology environments.

Pay Range: 

 

  • Undergraduate: $35/hr
  • Master's: $40/hr
