As the 2026 Summer Intern – Sales, Gastroenterology, you will have the opportunity to learn about brand strategy, marketing, and sales tactics including compliant interactions with health care providers In this role, you will assist the current sales team with customer interactions and analytics to support utilization of a product that prepares patients for colonoscopy. The Gastroenterology Sales Internship is a unique opportunity to gain experience in pharmaceutical sales and marketing.

 Responsibilities:  

1. Sample Management

  • Review and process sample requests
  • Track sample usage and follow up with healthcare providers (HCPs) for feedback
  • Assist in cleaning up open AOCs to optimize field team interactions

2. Non-Targeted Account Outreach

  • Contact non-targeted GI practices to introduce a gastro product
  • Share digital resources and educational materials
  • Capture interest and route potential leads to the field team
  • Support outreach to white space accounts to generate new leads

3. Virtual Support for Targeted Accounts

  • Schedule and coordinate virtual meetings for the field team
  • Send follow-up materials post-engagement
  • Monitor engagement metrics and report insights

4. Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze territory-level sales data to identify growth opportunities
  • Create dashboards or reports to track sample utilization and account activity
  • Support ad hoc analytics requests to inform targeting strategy

5. Special Projects

  • Miscellaneous projects based on your strengths and interests

 

Requirements: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Public Health, or a related field with interest in health care
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging with healthcare professionals
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights
  • Self-starter with a collaborative spirit and eagerness to learn
  • Prior internship or work experience in healthcare, sales, or marketing preferred but not required
  • Preferred geographic location: TX, FL, or NY/NJ/PA
  • Willing to travel up to 50% each week
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, have access to and be able to operate a vehicle
  • Willing and available to travel to the Parsippany, NJ office 2 or 3 times during the 10-week program

Standard Requirements for All Intern Positions:

  • Ability to complete the entire 10-week program (from May 26, 2026 to July 31, 2026) and commit to 37.5 hours per week
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above; college transcript required

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. based college or university
  • Enrolled in either an undergraduate (Bachelor’s), graduate, MBA, JD, PharmD, or PhD program
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without a need for sponsorship/CPT/OPT now or in the future
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Must be available to complete virtual interviews with HR and hiring manager
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to start date
  • Must complete a final presentation at the end of the 10-week program (mandatory)

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring, base pay is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package. The following hourly rates apply based on the summer intern candidate’s level of education:

Undergraduate: $25 per hour. Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program OR graduated within 1 year of receiving Bachelor’s degree and not currently enrolled in a Graduate program

Graduate: $27 per hour. Must be currently enrolled in Master’s, MBA, or PharmD (1-3 years) degree program

PhD: $30 per hour. Must be currently enrolled in JD, PharmD (4 years+), or PhD degree program

This internship role is for the specific date range of May 26, 2026 to July 31, 2026. You will be eligible for any company-paid holidays that occur during that range. 

During the internship, you will accrue sick time. However, use of this accrued sick time must occur after you have worked for Ferring for 120 consecutive days in 2026.

As a summer intern, you are ineligible for other Ferring benefits, comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision); a 401k plan and company match; short and long-term disability coverage; basic life insurance; wellness benefits; reimbursement for certain tuition expenses; and paid vacation time. You are also ineligible for pay of Company holidays that occur before or after the internship, should your internship be extended to part-time status.
