2026 Summer Intern, Full-Stack Developer (Remote)

We’re currently hiring a Full-Stack Developer Intern to join our teams remotely in Summer 2026.    

This is an entry-level, 10-week, full-time internship expected to begin in June and end in August. Work may be done remotely from any U.S. location. Pay is expected to be $23 per hour. At this time, we are unable to provide housing nor relocation assistance for this position.   

Our small but mighty team moves fast, thinks creatively, and believes in shipping products that users love. We help teams across ICF shepherd applied-AI products from proof-of-concept to production grade applications, acting like a startup within the larger organization. Projects have included augmenting technical assistance teams for healthcare, data extraction and fraud detection for energy utilities, and natural language exploration of large datasets. Our clients include both internal teams and external clients. 

We're looking for a curious and driven developer intern to join our product engineering team and help us apply AI to custom applications for teams across ICF. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools and best practices while building features that directly impact our PhD-grade subject matter experts and clients. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds including machine learning, data science, design, product management, and both backend and frontend development.

What You'll Do 

  • Learn by building end-to-end features using modern web technologies like React, TypeScript, Python, and PostgreSQL 

  • Experiment with modern AI technologies including LLMs, context engineering, and AI-powered user interfaces 

  • Collaborate with designers and product managers to create intuitive user experiences and provide technical input on product decisions 

  • Work with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices including Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization 

  • Contribute to technical architecture decisions while learning best practices for code quality, testing, and system reliability 

  • Use data and user feedback to inform product development through analytics, A/B testing, and user research insights 

What We're Looking For 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • By start date, a minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours is required in Computer Science, Data Science or a related field. 

  • Candidate must be a US citizen, reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S. per contract requirements 

Preferred Qualifications and Ideal Mindset: 

  • Strong curiosity and drive to learn new technologies and tackle complex challenges 

  • Some hands-on experience with programming (any language) through coursework, projects, or previous roles 

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment 

  • Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments typical of early-stage startups 

  • Enjoy wearing multiple hats and tackling diverse technical challenges 

  • Values shipping quickly while maintaining quality and technical excellence 

  • Passionate about creating exceptional user experiences

  • Design: UI/UX experience, prototyping, user research, or design thinking methodologies 

  • Product Management: Understanding of user needs, product strategy, or experience with agile methodologies 

  • Frontend Development: Experience with JavaScript, React, HTML/CSS, or modern web frameworks 

  • Backend Development: Experience with server-side languages, databases, APIs, or system architecture

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$34,392.00 - $58,466.00
