A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Compliance Engineering Co-op at Power Solutions, you will partner with Compliance Engineering team to assist with product compliance processes. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Compliance Manager.
Co-op Program Overview:
6 month co-op assignment within a functional area of MKS Instruments that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends.
Meaningful work and project assignments.

Exposure to different divisions of the business.

Co-op Term: This is a 6-month co-op starting in June 2026.
You Will Make an Impact By:
Product environmental compliance support and research such as RoHS, REACH, TSCA, PFAS, etc.
Documentation maintenance and updates
Test plans and test report generations
Mitigations of non-compliance designs
3rd Party safety agency (such as UL, TUV, CSA, etc.) supports
EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) testing and certification
Travel Requirements: Up to 10 % of travel may be required.
Skills You Bring:
3rd year or higher currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in the fields of electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology
Understanding of electrical schematics
Master with MS tools such as MS office, MS Teams
Excellent communication skills
Excellent trouble shooting skills for electrical and electronic products
Knowledge domestic and international standards and regulations
Knowledge of product compliance
Preferred Skills:
Environmental compliance and research
EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) directives and standards (Ex: EN 61326-1, EN 61000-4 series standards)
Safety directives and standards (Ex: IEC, CSA, EN, UL 61010-1)
FCC and international approvals processes

Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 to $31.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Benefits: MKS offers a benefits package for interns/co-ops working at least 20 hours per week, including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued on a biweekly basis.
