Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Intern in the area of Non-destructive Evaluation/Inspection. This position will be located in Clearfield, UT.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of duties in the NDI Laboratory related to Nondestructive Inspections (NDI).

  • Help develop NDI laboratory inspection techniques, including ultrasonics, thermography, shearography, and other disciplines.

  • Construct, troubleshoot, and test laboratory equipment and scan setups.

  • Assist in nondestructive inspections of aerospace composite materials.

  • Assist with NDI data analysis, presentation/report generation, and publications.

Basic Qualifications:

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND will be enrolled full time in Fall 2026 AND graduate after August 2026.

  • Be majoring in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree with a minor or emphasis on non-destructive evaluation (NDE).

  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026.

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher

  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & team-work capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

Intern Pay Range

  • Undergraduate Degrees (Including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master’s program): $17.75 to $32.75 per hour

  • Master’s: $25.50 to $40.50 per hour
