This position is for an intern who will be entering their sophomore or higher year by the start of summer 2026.

We are pleased to announce the Summer 2026 RVS Internship Program, offering students a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and practical skills. This program will feature a cohort of talented individuals from multiple disciplines, including Engineering, Operations, and Business Development.

Participants will engage in meaningful, hands-on projects, gaining insights into RVS operations with opportunities across a multitude of factories including cutting-edge semiconductor fabs, precision alignment work cells, Industry 4.0 automation cells, thin films deposition labs, and a variety of other exciting technologies. The program provides opportunities for professional development, networking, and collaboration with peers, leaders, and employees across the organization. Additionally, interns will enjoy a variety of engaging and interactive events designed to enhance their overall experience.

Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) is a world leader in the research, design, and manufacturing of focal plane arrays and flight-based vision systems supporting a myriad of defense, surveillance, space, and weather tracking applications. We have an opportunity for a Process Engineering intern to join our team in Goleta, California.

What You Will Do

  • Support Operations Engineering team to drive continuous improvement and production sustainment projects across the manufacturing engineering organization.
  • Determine the causes of defects and improve processes through updates to work instructions, tooling, process, or equipment, present results of investigations to peers and management.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams and gain exposure to the different facets of cutting-edge aerospace manufacturing.
  • Apply skills learned in an academic setting to solve real world engineering problems in an advanced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must be at least a sophomore by the start of summer 2026 pursuing a degree of in Physics, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or closely related engineering field.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PPT, Project, Word)
  • Previous manufacturing / process engineering experience

The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
