About the Team
As an intern on the Financial Institutions (FI) team, you will gain hands-on experience at one of the fastest-growing credit rating agencies and develop skills that are highly valued across the financial services industry. The FI team assigns and monitors credit ratings across different types of financial institutions, mainly banks, asset managers, and finance companies.
Job Responsibilities:
During the programme, you will:
- Develop analytical skills through hands-on experience with new issuance and surveillance transactions.
- Support the preparation of internal credit memos and research publications, including analysing financial statements, building spreadsheets, and developing other analytical materials.
- Participate in due diligence meetings as an integral part of the rating process.
- Assist in implementing key initiatives and projects that drive continuous process improvement.
- Work directly with experienced analysts and learn from subject-matter experts through initiatives such as KBRA’s Lunch & Learn sessions.
- Receive guidance and mentorship from your manager, peer mentor, senior leaders, and broader team members.
- Build a global professional network, strengthening your industry knowledge and forming relationships that will support your long-term success.
Key Job Qualifications:
- Have completed an undergraduate degree/postgraduate study by June 2026 in a finance, business or quantitative-related field.
- Be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university.
- Be business proficient in English (written and spoken).
- To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the Republic of Ireland
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- A genuine interest in capital markets and credit rating analysis.
- Ability to synthesise financial and qualitative information into clear, concise insights and confidence forming independent conclusions.
- Familiarity with financial statement analysis; deeper experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint, coupled with a strong appetite to expand technical capabilities.
- Experience with SQL and VBA for database querying and Power BI for data visualisation is a strong advantage.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team.
- A growth-oriented mindset, demonstrating initiative and ownership of work.
- Intellectual curiosity with a willingness to challenge assumptions and ask thoughtful questions.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and general productivity is a plus
