What is the opportunity?

The Enterprise Chief Controls Office (ECCO) is a centralized first line of defense (1LOD) group with the goal of embedding a culture of risk ownership and operational excellence to elevate the control environment. They do this by driving consistency and quality of risk practices to minimize loss and regulatory sanction, drive cost efficiencies, and accelerate project execution to enable growth. The Practice Management team serves to coordinate and drive consistency across 1LOD risk identification, controls, issue management, and non-financial-risk management practices.

Description of the Role

The Business and Risk Analyst will be responsible for various support functions within the ECCO and Practice Management team including, but not limited to, the development and maintenance of risk and control frameworks, risk analyses and documentation and report preparation for senior stakeholders.

What will you do?           

  • Support risk and control methodology execution through review of current risks, controls, policies and standards
  • Analyze and review Non-Financial Risks (NFRs) and support application and ongoing improvement of NFR frameworks, policies and standards
  • Leverage AI tools and data analytics to identify patterns, trends and insights in risk data to enhance analysis quality
  • Create training materials and presentations that communicate risk and control capabilities to key stakeholders
  • Support preparation of risk reports, dashboards and presentations for management stakeholders, utilizing AI-assisted visualization and documentation tools
  • Assist in evaluating and testing AI applications for potential use in risk analytics and reporting workflows
  • Other duties as assigned

What do you need to succeed?

  • Completed or are pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to consistently produce accurate and thorough documentation and reports
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to AI tools and emerging technologies in business workflows
  • Transforming data insights into meaningful training materials and management presentations
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

Nice-to-have

  • Experience or coursework in risk management or compliance
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools or business intelligence platforms
  • Interest in AI applications and emerging technologies in financial services
  • Prior internship or work experience in a financial institution or risk-related role

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Fall 2026 Student placement with a start date of September 2026, and end date of December 2026. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of December 2026 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in December 2026), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
