The Design & Creative Fellowship is a program for emerging talent excited to build the future of how people come together - shaping everything from AI-powered creation to new safety experiences for millions of people who create, play, and connect in experiences built by a global community of creators. 

This 6-month program is designed for those who may not have a conventional design background but demonstrate an exceptional ability to solve people-problems with empathy, curiosity, and resilience. 

You will get hands-on experience and direct mentorship from senior designers and creatives and be part of the diverse community of early career talent. At the completion of this program, you’ll have the opportunity to apply to a full-time position at Roblox.

You Will:
  • Build core skills in user-centered design principles, visual design, interaction design, and design thinking
  • Learn design systems, prototyping tools, accessibility best practices, and experiment with emerging technologies to push the boundaries
  • Dive into understanding our business and the user/creator ecosystem
  • Advocate for solving user problems, maintaining a high bar for quality and consistency
  • ​​Receive mentorship and feedback from experienced designers to accelerate your growth and refine your craft
  • Deliver a final capstone project that demonstrates your growth, design thinking, and ability to solve problems for people with a focus on empathy, craft, and creativity.
You Are:
  • Someone who has demonstrated creative problem-solving in any context —professional, academic, athletic, personal projects, community work, or self-directed learning
  • Value the design of everything around you, from software to hardware, from architecture to art
  • Curious to understand people's needs and their relationship with technology, seeing this as essential to the design and creative process
  • Eager to learn, you see every project as an opportunity to grow your skills and perspective
You Have:
  • Examples of how you've solved problems for people — this doesn't have to be a design portfolio. It could be a project you led, a community you built, a product you improved, a process you redesigned, or a challenge you navigated creatively
  • Availability to work full-time on-site at our San Mateo, CA headquarters for the duration of the 6-month program
  • Must be at least 18 years old

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual hourly rate could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Please note that not all benefits shown on this page are applicable to internship opportunities.

Hourly Pay Range
$28$35 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
