This requisition is for a Raytheon intern that will be converting to FT upon graduation.

The Manufacturing Engineer II will support the factory operations by alleviating technical and logistical issues, providing corrective action for quality issues, and provide optimization for design and manufacturing opportunities.   Manufacturing Engineers are typically assigned a line within the factory to support and resolve technical issues, between factory logistics, assembly technician training, quality issue resolution, creation and maintenance of instructions, and perform projects to improve the baseline of our design and processes.

What You Will Do

  • Applying manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designs 
  • Leverage knowledge and technical skills to influence business decisions and results from new designs to recurring production 
  • Design, control, and improve the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team 
  • Lead and coordinate projects, efforts and improvements across the extended value streams 
  • Act as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the program 
  • Identify and resolve constraints across the program 
  • Participate in corrective action investigation 
  • Provide technical input and peer review to engineering design changes 
  • Provide technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineers 

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Requires a Master's degree in Engineering
  • This position requires 12 months or less of related professional experience (excluding internships)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Advanced degree, preferably in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering 
  • Ability to identify, reduce and eliminate cost, quality and schedule constraints through technical engagements 
  • Understand and utilize factory and program performance data 
  • Ability to work or lead in groups and cross functional teams 
  • Experience interpreting and improving technical drawings 
  • Experience with technical writing 
  • Experience with MRP systems, including SAP 
  • Experience with DOD financial reporting systems including EAC and EVMS processes 
  • Experience teaching, training and/or mentoring manufacturing systems to junior engineers 
  • Experience communicating technical information to different audiences 
  • Current DOD Security Clearance

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
