Northrop Grumman is seeking Electrical Engineers. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Rocket Center, WV.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Weapon Systems Division.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Perform preliminary and detailed design of electronic devices, including design, analysis, manufacture and test
  • Provide engineering support for production manufacturing programs that covers all aspects of engineering, fastest exposure for engineering career development
  • Participate in selection of electronic components and processes for fabrication of product
  • Oversee all aspects of testing efforts on assigned project, including planning, component fabrication, test execution, data reduction, and final reporting
  • Compile and analyze test data to validate electronic circuits
  • Troubleshoot technical and product issues
  • Perform design tasks on critical safety products that would include schematic design, circuit board layout, packaging, circuit simulation/analysis and component tolerance analysis
  • Interface with customers regarding product technical status and potential product improvements

Basic Qualifications: 

This requisition may be filled at either a level 1 or a level 2.  Basic qualifications for an Engineer 1 are a Bachelor’s Degree. Basic qualifications for an Engineer 2 are a Master’s Degree.

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution
  • Be majoring in or having majored in Electrical Engineering
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
  • Experience or coursework in FPGA programming and logic circuit design
  • Experience or coursework in LabView, MatLab, VHDL, Cameo, Mentor Graphics, or C++

Salary Ranges:

Level 1: $65,800 - $98,800

Level 2: $79,300 - $118,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
