CNC Process Specialist

Job Summary:
The CNC Process Specialist supports daily production by coordinating schedules, preparing tooling and job kits, and ensuring machining processes meet quality and engineering standards. This role works closely with Supervisors, Engineering, and Operators to optimize workflow, enhance efficiency, and maintain a safe and compliant work environment. The CNC Process Specialist also assists with setups, training, and continuous improvement initiatives across the CNC department.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Shop Supervisor to schedule CNC production job orders
• Submit new program updates and process changes to Engineering
• Prepare tooling packages and job kits for production
• Identify and recommend CNC tooling purchases
• Ensure all work cells comply with Quality and Engineering procedures
• Assist with Production Readiness Audits
• Participate in cost-saving initiatives and process improvement projects
• Complete in-house Production Delegator Inspector (PDI) certification and perform first-piece checks as needed
• Perform production setups on CNC milling machines when required
• Assist in training and cross-training new Operators
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Perform operator-level preventive maintenance on equipment, coolant tanks, filters, and chip bins
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 4 years as a CNC mill/lathe Setup Operator within a production environment
Computer Skills: Basic computer proficiency with G & M code programming and CAD/CAM experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use basic measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
• Ability to lift 25–35 lbs regularly and 35–50 lbs occasionally; frequent standing, stooping, and bending required
• Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
