Overview

Centralized Modeling, Analytics and Operations (CMAO), a team within State Street’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department, is looking for an experienced and highly motivated professional with strong skills in modeling process design, data science, problem-solving, and communication.  The primary focus for the position will be to work for State Street’s CMAO Modeling Process Design function to provide optimal modeling process designing solutions within ERM.

Job Description

The Risk Modeling Process Designer / Analyst, Assistant Vice President, position is based in Princeton, New Jersey.  As a member of the CMAO Team, this individual must have in-depth knowledge and experience of models, modeling processes, workflow designing, solid data science and programming skills, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for interactions within CMAO as well as with various internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Take ownership and responsibilities to lead the risk modeling process designing tasks by interacting with model developers, model owners, source data providers, and downstream process owners to architect optimal modeling process design.
  • Collaborate with modeling stakeholders to enhance and enforce operational structure to effectively manage the modeling processes.
  • Produce modeling process design documents and operational manual for model process users.
  • Responsible for project planning, implementation, issue, remediation, UAT test case creation, progressive status tracking and management.
  • Work with modeling teams to support modeling production problem-solving in real time.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required (preferably in data science, computer science, mathematical finance, statistics, and/or financial engineering).
  • 3+ years of experience in model development and/or model owner with solid understanding of risk measures/methodologies: Greeks, VAR, Stress Testing and modeling related market data (and data vendors).
  • 5+ years of process workflow design, data modeling & analytics, leveraging AI capabilities; hands-on experience with object-oriented or functional programming and design experience (Python, Java, SQL, Cloud tools, data visualization).  Be able to design and build modeling and data analytics process automation applications/tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels, regions internally and externally.
  • Proven record to work independently on complex tasks, to manage projects/teams, and to engage key stake holders (internal/external) in a fast-paced environment.
  • Execution-oriented, result-oriented, and multitasking-capable.  Be able to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and to deliver in time with quality.

Experience in any of the following is highly desirable

  • Prior workflow designer, financial modeler, data scientist, data architect, AI developer and/or machine learning product development experience in financial institutions.
  • Data solution architect experience in structured and unstructured data management tools (Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, MS Azure, Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, and/or etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge and working experience on business process management design and tools (PEGA, Appian) and BI tools (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence design and operation is a plus.

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $167,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
