Job Description

The facilities maintenance manager position is responsible for leading, managing, maintaining, and overseeing all maintenance aspects of facilities site operations at the Cityline and Independence, TX sites as well as several smaller sites in the area; supporting over 1M SF and over 2800 employees.  This includes implementation of operations & maintenance, engineering and sustainability initiatives.   In addition, the facilities maintenance manager will partner with and Project Delivery Managers within Facilities & Real Estate to ensure work is completed in a professional, timely, and cost-efficient manner.   

The position is also responsible for ensuring a safe, flexible, efficient, and clean workplace.  A critical job responsibility of the facilities maintenance manager is to ensure the execution of day-to-day operations and ensure infrastructure projects are successfully completed to customer satisfaction. 

This position requires significant interactions with the local business leadership, and other RTX functional organizations including Digital Technology, Security, Environmental Health and Safety, internal customers, suppliers, and government compliance officials.  The facility maintenance manager is responsible to support site audits and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. 


What You Will do:

  • Supervise employees and/or outside contractors, who construct, maintain, and repair infrastructure systems, buildings, and equipment via one or more of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning, heating, painting and/or general maintenance, including custodial & grounds.
  • Manage and direct all day-to-day activities in support of building operations and customer needs.
  • Provide on and off-site direction to mechanical system technicians during regular and off-hours as needed.
  • Always present a professional demeanor and appearance
  • Management of facilities vendors and contractors.
  • Assure effective preventive maintenance/corrective maintenance of existing systems.
  • Maintain department Budgets and asset protection records.
  • Manage State of Texas required inspections and certifications for site.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • This role typically requires a bachelor’s degree in facilities, Mechanical or Electrical engineering, business administration or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in all aspects of facilities maintenance and construction to include janitorial, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, sheet metal or a masters degree and 3 years relevant applicable experience. In lieu of a degree a combination of 9 or more years of relevant work experience, may be considered.
  • At least 5years of proven leadership experience.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in building infrastructure and technology (building management systems), reading and interpreting schematics, online diagrams and blueprints.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Candidate should have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be capable of communicating with customers both orally and in writing.
  • Experience consulting with management, contractors and stakeholders on building maintenance and construction issues.
  • The ability to work extended hours and overtime to support building and customer needs; nights weekends and on call as needed. Required Emergency 24/7 response and support.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Microsoft Projects, Maximo, Building Management Systems and AutoCAD.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
