Our challenge

The IT Risk Analyst will support the Technology Risk & Controls team in managing access governance and control validation across Capital Markets systems. The role focuses on reviewing access approvals, identifying potential control violations, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with internal risk policies and procedures.

Additional Information* 

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.  In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Halifax, NS is CAD $70k – CAD $80k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Review and obtain access setup files for Capital Markets systems.
  • Perform access reconciliation against approved authorization records.
  • Investigate discrepancies where approvals are missing or incomplete.
  • Identify potential access control violations and determine root causes.
  • Document findings and prepare risk reports and incident summaries.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with relevant stakeholders to discuss findings and remediation actions.
  • Support ongoing technology risk and control monitoring activities within the Capital Markets environment.

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Experience performing access reviews, control validation, or reconciliation activities.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Knowledge of IT risk, governance, and control frameworks.
  • Experience working within financial services or capital markets environments.
  • Familiarity with technology access governance or compliance processes.
