Together, we power commercial decision making, strengthen Zip’s control environment and ensure our financial outcomes reflect accuracy, transparency and impact.As our Financial Control Manager, you will use your technical expertise and problem-solving mindset to uplift processes, strengthen internal controls and contribute to Zip’s journey toward SOX compliance. You’ll collaborate with teams across FP&A, Treasury, Credit Risk, Group Finance, Product and our external auditors, playing a meaningful role in enhancing the quality, predictability and reliability of Zip’s financial reporting.
What you’ll own
- Contributing to the month end close process while uplifting and embedding strong financial controls
- Supporting reporting processes and delivering timely, accurate information for internal and external stakeholders
- Playing a key role in uplifting processes and controls to SOX standard, including process documentation, building RACMs and addressing control deficiencies
- Embedding a strong risk management culture with high-quality documentation and clarity of processes
- Writing and reviewing technical accounting memos, with exposure to IFRS 9, 15 and 38
- Collaborating with teams across the business to strengthen upstream controls and improve information flows into Finance
- Owning elements of legal entity monitoring and contributing to statutory and Group audit processes
- Supporting half year and full year reporting alongside the Group Financial Control team
- Providing insight and input into budgeting, forecasting and business partnering activities
- Supporting projects across the business, including new product initiatives and system implementations
- Delivering ad-hoc analysis and problem solving as required
What you’ll bring to the team
- 7 plus years of relevant finance and accounting experience within financial control or a Big 4 environment
- CA or CPA qualification
- Deep understanding of financial reporting standards, with experience in IFRS 9 and 15
- A track record of uplifting processes and improving controls
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across the business
- Comfort operating in environments of ambiguity and change
- A high attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset
- A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
