About the role

As a Youth Worker, this is your opportunity to provide support to young people residing at Burlendi, supporting the development of independence and self-reliance across all life domains in line with direction from Case Manager. 

Burlendi is a 24/7 accommodation program that works with young people 15-17 years old, which also has a passive component 3 times a fortnight and a 24/7, 4 week rotating roster. 

Reporting to the Team Leader this is a permanent, part-time position offer 30 hours per week, based in Salisbury, SA.


How you will make an impact

  • Providing support to young people in line with Youth Services Model of care and associated Frameworks

  • Establish effective relationships with clients that encourage self-determination and participation

  • Provide support to clients in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practice

  • Ongoing assessment is made of the client’s issues, safety, needs and circumstances from initial intake to exit

  • Case plan goals are implemented with active client participation 

What you will bring

  • Diploma qualification in Social Work, Youth work, welfare, community development or related field  

  • Demonstrated level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous roles, service and study/development 

  • Working with Children Check eligibility

  • Willing to undergo a Psychological/Psychometric Assessment (in line with Children and Young People Safety Act 2017) if not already acquired

  • A national police record check is required

  • First Aid Certificate
