We are looking to add a team member to our Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) team who will contribute by applying a sharp eye for detail and effective communication style to help achieve organizational goals! This team inspects and analyzes materials at the microscopic level, enabling engineers to examine wafer surfaces, detect defects, and ensure quality in chip fabrication. As an SEM Yield Enhancement Technician at Micron, you will maintain the operation and minor maintenance of SEMs and Dual Beams (FIB/SEM), sample preparation for SEMs, and communicate your findings to customers in a timely and effective manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on shift to provide SEM support for FAB 4 YE part types (DRAM, and EM)

  • Ensure safe operation of the acid hood, sputter coaters, ion millers, UV cleaners, etchers, and micro-cleaving tools

  • Process test runs and prepare records, charts, and graphs of results for engineers to identify yield problems or test new products

  • Connect with part type engineers regarding requests, priorities, and/or general communications

  • Connect with other team members and supplier representatives at all levels on tool issues, requests, support items, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of the different FAB process is required: Wet Etch, Dry Etch, Metrology, PCVDI, Photo, and CMP

  • 0-3 years of previous experience in physical failure analysis (SEM/PFA)

  • Ability to prioritize and work independently

  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)

  • Experience or ability identifying performance gaps and implementing strategic resolutions/improvements

  • PC skills to include M.S. Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, OneNote)

  • Available to work 12 hour shifts and work overtime as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Required Education:

  • Electronics Engineering Technology AAS or other STEM-related Associate's degree (or equivalent trade school/military experience)

  • BS in Physics, Chemistry or related field is preferred
