About the Position
Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Systems, the Workday Security and Reporting Analyst is the primary business analyst and developer supporting our Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), Financial, and Payroll security model and complex reporting for members of the Haverford College community. The Analyst supports the College’s security model by leading the design and development of Workday Security Configuration to ensure appropriate user access and permissions. The Analyst also develops complex reporting and analytics for members of the Haverford College community to support data-driven decision-making. The Analyst ensures data integrity, compliance with policies, and system efficiency for a variety of functional areas, including Core HCM, Benefits, Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Talent, Payroll, Core Financials, Grants Management, Adaptive Planning, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Expenses, and Procurement. In the future, the Analyst may also support Workday Student if the College chooses to migrate from its current Student Information System.

The Workday Security and Reporting Analyst identifies system discrepancies, researches problems, and develops solutions; works with IT and client staff to prepare functional and technical specifications for reports, interfaces, and conversions for Workday HCM, Finance, and Payroll; and provides customer support to the community.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Configure Workday Security to support community access and security requirements
  • Conduct regular security audits to ensure access is appropriate across Workday, including security policies, domains, and role-based and user-based security groups
  • Work with users and other Enterprise Systems staff to design, test, and develop complex reports for Workday HCM, Payroll, Finance, and Adaptive Planning
  • Design and develop integrations between Workday and other applications
  • Provide software support (troubleshooting and break fixes) to functional Workday users
  • Create specifications, documenting reporting and integration requests
  • Work with Director of Enterprise Systems to prioritize new requests
  • Provide support and training to functional users and data specialists in creating and debugging their Workday reports
  • Research, plan, and specify technical solutions to newly identified client business needs, as assigned
  • Create process and technical documentation
  • Maintain general awareness of advances and current trends in technology
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

Line of Report: The Workday Security and Reporting Analyst reports to Director of Enterprise Systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with either coursework in information technology or a related field, or with a certificate from a recognized program that indicates mastery of the tools and techniques for this position
  • Five (5) years of related professional experience
  • Technical proficiency in Workday Security, Report Writing, and Integrations

Professional Competencies

  • Experience with CloudConnect Integrations; Segmented Security; and Advanced, Composite and Matrix Reports
  • Ability to perform analysis and programming tasks both individually and as part of a team
  • Strong logical thinking skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Client service and problem-solving approach to client work is critical

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Workday Studio
  • Working knowledge of Workday Payroll, HCM, and/or Finance
  • Experience in a higher education setting
  • Familiarity with Workday Student
  • Familiarity with SnapLogic IPAAS Tool
  • Familiarity with Workday Extend development environment
  • Experience in compliance with applicable laws, best practices, and policy principles related to FERPA, Fair Use, and intellectual property
