Workday Analyst

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Workday Analyst to lead and support the Workday Recruiting module. This position reports to the Senior Manager, HR Systems and Analytics and plays a critical role in advancing the firm’s talent acquisition technology strategy.

The Workday Analyst will serve as the functional lead and subject matter expert (SME) for the Workday Recruiting module. This role will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and expanding the firm’s Workday Recruiting capabilities to support end-to-end recruiting operations. As an established Workday customer, Morgan Lewis continues to evolve its HR technology landscape. This position partners closely with Talent Acquisition and other firm stakeholders to ensure Workday Recruiting aligns with business goals, delivers a positive user experience, and supports data integrity and compliance.

This position can sit in most U.S. offices with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.

Key responsibilities include:

Functional Ownership

  • Serve as the firm’s Workday Recruiting functional lead, acting as the primary contact for configuration, testing, and process improvements.

  • Partner with stakeholders across Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and others to gather requirements and translate business needs into Workday solutions.

  • Recommend and implement best practices and scalable configurations to enhance recruiting efficiency and candidate experience.

Configuration & Enhancement

  • Lead the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of new and enhanced Workday Recruiting functionality, including job requisitions, job application workflow, offer letters, and related business processes.

  • Maintain documentation of configurations, design decisions, and change management activities.

  • Collaborate on integrations and external tools (e.g., DocuSign, background check vendors, external job boards) to ensure seamless candidate and recruiter workflows.

Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide Tier 1–3 production support for all Workday Recruiting issues, including researching, identifying, and resolving complex problems or process flaws in a timely manner.

  • Proactively identify recurring issues or process gaps and propose improvements.

Testing & Release Management

  • Coordinate and execute smoke testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for Recruiting related enhancements and Workday releases.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and scripts.

  • Participate in Workday’s bi-annual releases, reviewing release notes, assessing impact, and implementing relevant updates.

Training, Documentation & Stakeholder Communication

  • Develop and maintain user guides, training materials, and job aids to support recruiters.

  • Conduct training sessions and communicate process updates to impacted stakeholders.

  • Document system processes

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Engage in Workday Community, user groups, and webinars to stay current on trends, new features, and peer best practices.

  • Collaborate with the broader HR Systems team on cross-module dependencies (e.g., Core HCM, Onboarding).

  • Contribute to strategic HR technology initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree from four-year college or university is required.

  • Minimum 3 years of direct HRIS and Workday experience in a professional services or corporate environment.

  • Demonstrated experience configuring the Workday Recruiting module globally, partnering with regional and international stakeholders to ensure compliance with local regulations and GDPR requirements, and delivering optimized process and system solutions aligned with Workday best practices.

  • Proven Workday Recruiting configuration experience required, including career site configuration, job requisition creation maintenance, job application dynamic process, offer letter setup & distribution, and other related business processes.

  • DocuSign integration experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with integrations and downstream data flows (e.g., onboarding, background checks, reporting).

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), analytical thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving ability.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.

  • Self-motivated with a high degree of accountability and independence.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, partner cross-functionally, and drive results in a collaborative environment.

For positions in New York, the salary range for this job posting is: $91,500.00- $146,325.00

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
