Warehouse Specialist

US-CA-San Diego Full time

Purpose/Scope:

Performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment storage plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify material/merchandising against receiving documents, identify discrepancies and obvious damages, route materials, and store, stack or palletize material in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
  • Rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials, examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage.
  • Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.
  • May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.

Minimum Knowledge:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Six to twelve months’ job-related experience and/or training are required. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a general-purpose government vehicle. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Work Environment:

Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting up to 20-60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/or organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Position may require travel.
