Job Description Summary

Warehouse Leader is responsible for managing and executing all aspects of the Surgery and Service distribution warehouses. Responsibilities include the shipping, receiving, stocking, and distribution of materials, parts and Surgery systems. Provide input or recommendations to supervisor on personnel issues such as: hiring, performance assessment, and discipline.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily stand-up meeting with the team to review daily needs and priorities. Ensure an effective communication of needs between team functions and properly escalate issues or concerns.

  • Reads work procedures and provides instruction to others as required to effectively lead area.

  • Maintain the Surgery and Service distribution warehouses by following good lean practices and implementation of 5S.

  • Provides clearly defined goals and feedback to personnel.

  • Effectively manage resources to consistently achieve productivity goals in assigned area.

  • Effectively manage receiving, shipping, and all other work requirements in the Surgery and Service distribution warehouses area to achieve customer satisfaction.

  • Effectively manage service warehouse team personnel to ensure proper distribution of resources to support, receiving, inspection, shipping, warehouse, kitting and inventory activities.

  • Teamwork, respects other’s ideas and contributions.

  • Communicates effectively and consistently utilizing both verbal and visual media to define the goals and objectives and foster a culture focused on continuous improvement.

  • Monitoring the requirements and adjusting workloads and resources appropriately to maximize efficiency and meet required productivity goals.

  • Assisting in implementation of process improvements to increase quality and productivity levels.

  • Other duties as assigned and may be asked to be included in quality activities, training sessions, and employee activity teams.

  • Participates in quality control inspections when required.

  • Comply with EHS regulations and policies

  • Work in root cause analysis of the misses and work on the permanent solutions.

  • Ensure all areas are maintained by their respective teams; collaborate with refurbishment, service, OTR, and manufacturing.

  • Communicate receipt of all inbound materials to OTR and assist OTR with all China distribution activities need to fulfill orders.

  • Communicate receipt of all inbound trade-in materials to refurbishment and assist the refurbishment team with managing finished goods distribution and storage.

  • Receive and unload supplier deliveries coming into the Surgery distribution warehouse; support outgoing shipments to suppliers as required.

  • Operate and supervise operations of powered material handling equipment to include forklifts and powered pallet jacks.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or local equivalent with 5 or more years of supply chain or manufacturing or logistics experience

  • Minimum of 12 – 18 months in role for GE internal employees

  • Ability to communicate, receive and understand instructions regarding duties to be performed.

  • Ability to provide instructions regarding policies and procedures.

  • Must be able to lift (floor to waist, waist to crown level, and horizontally).

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to perform frequent simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation, neck rotation, and neck flexion throughout the workday.

  • Must be able to twist, push/pull, reach at, above and below shoulder height frequently throughout the workday.

  • Must be able to stoop, bend and squat frequently throughout the workday.

  • Must be able to stand/walk continuously throughout the day

  • Must be able to ascend/descend/balance frequently on portable stairs for small parts retrieval.

Desired Qualifications

  • 1 or more years of Group Leader experience.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Higher.

  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
