We are seeking a VP of Brokerage/Transportation – Producer to join our growing team in Stockton, CA.
The VP of Brokerage Transportation is a senior leadership role responsible for driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence within the transportation brokerage segment. This position oversees strategic planning, team leadership, and relationship management with retail agents, carriers, and key stakeholders. The VP will lead efforts to expand market share in trucking, logistics, and related transportation risks while ensuring compliance, innovation, and superior client service.
How You Will Contribute
- Define and execute the transportation brokerage strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and develop initiatives to capture new business.
- Drive digital adoption and operational efficiencies across the transportation practice.
- Grow managed premium through strategic partnerships and carrier negotiations.
- Maintain and expand relationships with retail agents and national accounts.
- Lead efforts to improve hit ratios and submission flow for transportation risks.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing producers and brokers.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching and performance monitoring for team leaders and associates.
- Manage and optimize the assigned budget for the transportation brokerage segment.
- Own P&L responsibility and ensure profitability targets are met.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to achieve growth objectives.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, underwriting guidelines, and carrier appetites.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful
- Minimum 10+ years in wholesale brokerage with a strong focus on transportation risks.
- Proven success in leading large teams and managing multi-million-dollar books of business.
- Deep understanding of trucking, logistics, and transportation coverages.
- Strategic thinking, negotiation, relationship-building, and financial acumen.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Active P&C license; additional certifications a plus.
Pay Range
$80,000 - $200,000 Annual
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
