VP, Customer Experience and Inside Sales

Novi, MI (Humboldt Drive) Full time

Provide strategic direction, sales and commercial oversite, and cross-functional support of all selling and account management activities within the assigned customer base or region. Develop and lead a team of Business Directors/Managers responsible for new customer pipeline opportunities and customer retention. Collaborate with the Network Optimization, Operations, Legal, Finance and Transportation functions.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Design and implement a strategic business plan to drive sales organization initiatives  
  • Achieve annual sales, revenue, EBITDA, and other growth goals and objectives
  • Provide leadership and direction to expand business relationships with current customers and close new business opportunities
  • Direct, recruit, train, develop, and provide performance feedback to direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Coordinate with appropriate functions to support market capacity reviews and customer service
  • Review territory assignments to ensure adequate account coverage
  • Develop value propositions to diversify and expand revenue
  • Participate in pricing and profitability analysis and identify strategies to ensure competitive market landscape
  • Create and oversee a high-growth strategy involving existing and new markets
  • Pursue new business opportunities and drive new and innovative business development
  • Influence the Network Optimization team relative to the deployment of capital to better serve customers through expansions, newbuilds, new markets and acquisition targets

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent training in Business or Sales Management
  • 10 years progressive senior level management and leadership experience in a warehouse and sales management environment
  • 10 years advanced sales and business development experience
  • Broad business development background to include competency in negotiations, new business wins and market expansion
  • Knowledge of temperature-controlled warehouse and logistics industry
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated management skills with emphasis on guiding and developing a team, customer service, communications, and planning
  • Respectable industry leader with strong market credibility gained through integrity when interacting with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated proficiency in development and implementation of strategy / annual plans (budget, operational performance, SOPs, workshops, etc.) 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
