Team/Role Overview

We’re looking for an experienced and driven communications professional to join Citi Wealth’s Communications team. The role will be based in London and support Citi Wealth across UK, Europe and Middle East & Africa (MEA). It will report to the Director, Wealth Communications in New York and be responsible for developing and executing proactive and strategic communications in support of Citi Wealth across the UK, Europe and MEA clusters. This role will ensure there is consistent, clear and concise messaging, including executive communications, social media profile building/engagement, media interviews and internal messaging to colleagues.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in banking/wealth management communications and thrive in a fast-paced environment that supports of a fast-growing business.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key media focused on wealth, banking, personal finance and philanthropy across UK, Europe and MEA
  • Lead proactive media and employee engagement strategy in the UK and coordinate activities within the business throughout Europe & MEA.
  • Support key regional stakeholders on creating and executing an internal and external communications strategy that supports strategic business objectives
  • Ensure UK, Europe & MEA Wealth messaging is aligned with Citi’s regional priorities and global messaging, as well as the global messaging for the business.
  • Identify key Citi Wealth spokespeople and ensure they have the appropriate training and are well versed in the regional and global messages for the business and Citi.
  • Work closely with regional business heads and communications colleagues on internal announcements and communications. Amplifying these announcements with target media, when appropriate.
  • Coordinate closely with the business on industry award submissions and profiles.
  • Work closely with colleagues across ESPA as well as functional partners across the firm including Finance, Marketing, HR, Legal, Risk and Compliance

What we'll need from you:

  • Understanding of financial products or market instruments
  • Experience in communications/media relations
  • Ability to deliver quality work in a fast-paced, dynamic and complex environment under tight deadlines
  • Experience pitching financial, business and industry media outlets
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to synthesise complex concepts to create key messages for various stakeholders
  • Team player with ability to manage projects strategically
  • Strong relationship management skills, comfortable working with senior business leaders,
  • Takes initiative and anticipates next steps
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with high degree of confidentiality
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field beneficial
