About the Team
The People Technology & Operations team is dedicated to delivering trusted, scalable HR experiences by driving efficiency through technology, data-driven insights, and process optimization. Our focus is on championing seamless, self-service experiences for Workmates, leveraging innovation in automation, AI, and strategic tech implementation. This team, composed of Business Analysts, Process Excellence, Operations & Reporting professionals, operates globally across the US, India, Costa Rica, Ireland, Poland, UK, and Singapore.About the Role
Workday is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial Vice President, People Technology & Operations to play a pivotal role in our AI-first transformation. This role will drive the strategy and execution of a cutting-edge HR technology and operations function, creating seamless, "consumer-like" experiences for all Workmates.
The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a proven track record of leveraging technology to innovate and scale HR, championing advanced technologies like AI, machine learning, and automation to redefine how we serve our global workforce. This leader will partner with Business Technology, Product, Partner organization and Ventures, fostering collaboration across the People & Purpose organization to champion the voice of Customer Zero. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in digital HR and operational acumen, ensuring seamless platform performance and an exceptional employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Vision: Define and lead the long-term vision for People Technology and Operations, integrating AI, ML, to automate, standardize and scale the employee experience.
Operational Transformation: Architect and implement a frictionless next-generation HR service delivery model for Workmates and People Leaders. Build and lead a dedicated team to deliver operations, resilient, automated processes at scale.
Technology Leadership: Build and Execute a robust Technology Roadmap for People & Purpose by collaborating with internal and external partners. Serve as the primary liaison for the Workday on Workday, Workday Product and Partners(Built on Workday) team, Ventures and other third parties, leading the change and ensuring we are always on the cutting edge.
Data-Driven Leadership: Utilize data and analytics to identify opportunities for improving operations, automation and process transformation, directly linking solutions to business goals and a superior employee experience.
Cultivate a Culture of Innovation: Inspire and develop a team of HR professionals to continuously seek out and implement groundbreaking solutions. Champion an entrepreneurial spirit within the team, encouraging experimentation and a forward-thinking approach with results.
Executive Partnership and Influence: Build and maintain strong relationships with the executive team and cross-functional leaders to shape strategy, secure buy in, and drive bold, transformative initiatives.
About You
You are a visionary and hands-on leader with a proven track record of driving large-scale HR technology transformations. You are a thought leader, capable of inspiring change and navigating complex, global environments with confidence.
Strategic HR Technology Expertise: You have extensive experience in HR leadership, with a specific focus on technology transformation and an intimate knowledge of the Workday ecosystem. Experience with advanced technologies like AI, machine learning, and automation is essential.
Change Management and Influence: You have a demonstrated ability to lead through times of hyper-growth and significant change, providing stability and confidence to your team and the broader organization. Your communication and relationship-building skills allow you to influence senior leaders and align them on ambitious initiatives.
Analytical and Results-Oriented: You have strong analytics and problem-solving skills, translating complex data into clear, compelling business cases. You are driven to achieve and exceed goals in a fast-paced, high performance environment.
People Leadership: You are a natural coach and mentor, passionate about developing talent. You build, motivate, and grow a high-performing team of diverse HR professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
