The Role

The Vice President of Product Marketing is a pivotal executive role responsible defining the worldwide marketing vision for the full Hitachi Vantara product portfolio. This role is critical to driving market success: through visionary leadership and influence. Your team positions the company’s storage, hybrid cloud and data management offerings as key solutions for modern enterprises, shaping customer perception and fueling revenue growth. The Vice President acts as a chief product evangelist, ensuring the company’s value proposition resonates with customers, partners, and industry influencers on a global scale.

This role leads cross-functional go-to-market strategy, refines product positioning, and orchestrates major product launches to maximize market impact. You will lead and mentor an established high-performing product marketing team, fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation. Success in the role requires exceptional cross-functional collaboration – working closely with product development, sales, and other departments to ensure unified execution from strategy to customer engagement. With keen strategic foresight, the VP anticipates industry trends (such as cloud adoption and AI-driven analytics) and adapts marketing strategies to keep the company’s offerings ahead of the curve. By inspiring teams and driving consensus, this leader ensures the company’s solutions stand out in the market and drive sustained business growth.

What You Will Be Doing

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute product marketing strategies that showcase leadership in AI-driven data pipelines, data governance services, and hybrid cloud solutions for enterprise workloads.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a strategic partner to product management, sales, partners, and customer success teams to deliver unified go-to-market programs.

Product Launch Excellence

  • Lead launches for new products and releases, emphasizing differentiation in block storage, mission-critical infrastructure, and cloud-native capabilities.
  • Market Evangelism
  • Serve as a thought leader and evangelist, promoting Hitachi Vantara’s story to analysts, influencers, and industry communities, highlighting the company’s role in enabling AI-driven innovation and secure, governed data ecosystems.

Positioning & Messaging

  • Craft compelling narratives that articulate the value of solutions for AI workloads, data-intensive applications, and regulated industries.
  • Sales Enablement
  • Build programs that empower sales teams to communicate the benefits of offerings in AI, hybrid cloud, and enterprise storage.

Voice of the Customer

  • Partner closely with Product Management to represent customer needs and influence roadmap decisions, ensuring alignment with market trends in AI, data governance, and cloud adoption.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of product marketers (~20), fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and customer-centricity.

What You Will Bring To The Team

  • Proven success in complex SaaS/IaaS/PaaS environments, ideally with experience in data management, data analytics, or enterprise storage.
  • Expertise in AI/ML-driven solutions, hybrid cloud strategies, and data governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead product marketing for multi-product portfolios and drive growth in fast-paced, high-change environments.
  • Strong track record of engaging with analysts and influencers to shape market perception.
  • Creative, proactive leader with a growth mindset and ability to inspire teams through passion and energy.

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is: $250K - $280K. The expected on target earnings for this position is: $300K - $330K

The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. This position is also eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara’s bonus/variable pay programs, and are subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
