Job Summary

The Vice President of Marketing for Employee Benefits will lead the marketing strategy that drives growth, strengthens brand leadership, and elevates the client experience across OneDigital’s largest core business. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Marketing, this role partners closely with practice leadership, sales, client service, product, M&A, and field marketing to position OneDigital as the undisputed market leader in employee benefits.

This leader will champion OneDigital’s brand, own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for Employee Benefits, and drive execution across brand, demand generation, client expansion, M&A prospect marketing, and field enablement. The role requires a marketing leader who excels at operationalizing a plan—turning strategy into consistent, high-quality execution across national and regional teams.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Strategic Leadership & Go-to-Market Execution

  • Develop and lead the comprehensive marketing strategy for Employee Benefits, with a strong emphasis on brand leadership, market positioning, and industry excellence.
  • Define target markets, audience segmentation, and differentiated value propositions for small to mid-market employers, HR and finance leaders, and executive buyers.
  • Lead integrated GTM plans for new offerings, service innovations, market expansion, and M&A prospect marketing, ensuring alignment with growth leadership and practice priorities.
  • Drive thought leadership that positions OneDigital as an industry authority in employee benefits, cost containment, alternative funding, and emerging market trends.

Brand Leadership & Market Positioning

  • Strengthen OneDigital’s brand authority in the Employee Benefits space through cohesive storytelling, differentiated messaging, and strategic brand activation.
  • Partner with Brand and Field Marketing to ensure brand consistency across all channels and national/regional touchpoints.
  • Lead campaigns that amplify OneDigital’s fierce advocacy, innovation, and commitment to delivering cost-effective, strategic employee benefits solutions.

Client Expansion & Convergence Leadership

· Lead the client expansion and convergence strategy for Employee Benefits, partnering with practice peers (HRC, P&C, Financial Services, PEO, Medicare) and regional field leaders to activate cross-sell, up-sell, and multi-practice growth opportunities. Develop integrated messaging, segmented value propositions, and cross-practice campaign plays that deepen client relationships and expand share of wallet across the OneDigital portfolio.

Growth & Demand Generation

  • Oversee multi-channel programs that drive lead generation, accelerate the sales pipeline, and improve win rates across the Employee Benefits practice.
  • Implement data-driven marketing strategies using digital, paid media, ABM, and content marketing to optimize ROI and advance marketing maturity.
  • Build and execute targeted cross-sell and client expansion campaigns—aligned to practice collaboration and regional needs—that drive measurable lift in engagement, pipeline creation, and multi-practice revenue growth.
  • Partner with the M&A and business development teams to develop pre-sale marketing programs that initiate conversations with prospective acquisition targets and reinforce OneDigital’s value proposition, culture, and integrated model.
  • Collaborate with Field Marketing and Enablement to deliver content, messaging, and tools that enhance producer effectiveness and support every stage of the pipeline.
  • Use marketing analytics, industry intelligence, and client insights to continuously refine strategies and improve conversions.

Voice of the Customer & Product Alignment

  • Lead the Voice of the Customer (VoC) program within Employee Benefits to inform GTM strategy, product alignment, and content development.
  • Partner closely with data teams to translate insights into solution enhancements, service innovation, and go-to-market opportunities.
  • Ensure client and market feedback drive continuous improvement in messaging, thought leadership, and marketing activation.

Operational Excellence & Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team aligned to Employee Benefits, fostering a culture of clarity, accountability, and high-quality execution.
  • Partner with Field Marketing to ensure seamless execution of national campaigns, regional activation, and producer/consultant support.
  • Oversee budgets, agency partnerships, and resources to maximize efficiency and impact.
  • Use data, reporting, and KPIs to inform decisions and continuously improve performance.
  • Ensure marketing activities comply with industry regulations and internal standards, partnering with Legal and Compliance as needed.

Preferred Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, ideally within employee benefits, insurance, healthcare, or related B2B services.
  • Proven success in building and executing sophisticated GTM and brand strategies that drive measurable business growth.
  • Experience supporting M&A teams with pre-sale marketing, positioning, outreach storytelling, and value-prop alignment for acquisition targets (not solely post-close integration).
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Deep familiarity with digital marketing, growth marketing, CRM systems, and analytics platforms (HubSpot, SFMC, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits market trends, funding strategies, and the competitive landscape.

Required Capabilities

  • Visionary leader with a strategic mindset and a strong track record of driving growth through innovative marketing initiatives.
  • Strong brand strategist with the ability to turn a brand vision into powerful campaigns and marketing activation.
  • Exceptional storyteller and communicator who can influence senior stakeholders and galvanize teams.
  • Operationally excellent leader with a bias toward action, execution, and accountability.
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Highly collaborative and skilled at leading cross-functional initiatives across product, sales, client service, M&A, and field marketing.
  • Results-oriented, proactive, and adaptable, with a passion for delivering excellence and making a measurable impact.
