Verifications Officer - Third Party Credit

CommBank’s Chief Operations Office (COO) is looking for Verification Officers to join our Retail Operations business.
 

Retail Operations delivers high-quality, efficient services across the end-to-end retail lending lifecycle. Retail Operations span credit decisioning, settlements, and customer support for products including home loans, personal loans and credit cards —servicing both CBA and Bankwest brands
 

The Role.
This role will see you responsible for the Verification and Assessment of Secured Home Loan Customer Applications. These will be received via the Third-Party Channel.
 

You will ensure accurate and effective verification of home loan applications that are made in a consistent, efficient, timely manner and delivering excellent customer service. This will include verifying credit worthiness, ID checks, payslips and bank statements to ensure loan serviceability or eligibility among other things.
 

This is a highly operational role where accuracy is paramount and will include checking and working with third party channel providers to ensure we have everything required for the loan.
 

Your responsibilities:

  • Accurate application of home loan policies and procedures to make safe, sound and responsible home loan assessments.
  • Focus on efficiency and accuracy on new assessments and rework to deliver fast quality decisions for our customers.
  • Use consistency and good judgement with the application of policy when assessing applications to driving good customer focus outcomes.
  • Professional clear and concise communication with key stakeholders (lenders, brokers and customers) with the ability to build rapport with these stakeholders.
  • Identify Continuous Improvement opportunities to simplify our business and to improve outcomes for our customers.
  • Delivering safe and customer focused, financial outcomes for the Group.
  • Ensure compliance within internal and external compliance / audit requirements which may include adherence to government/governing body legislative policies.
  • Taking a values-based approach and building trust within our teams.
  • Delivering on the RCD Strategic priorities plus business line partner priorities which includes outbound calls to the lending network in line with our service offering.
  • Adhere to the code of conduct. The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behavior, actions and decisions we expect from our people.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Home loan lending experience and/or home loan credit experience and familiar assessing PAYG home loan applications end to end.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships and effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking with the ability to make safe, sound and secure assessments whilst exercising commercial acumen
  • Customer centric approach when considering New applications, rework and application conditions.
  • Ability to think laterally while maintaining an unbiased, risk and analytically driven assessment of alternate options when verifying applications.
  • Understanding of APRA, ASIC regulatory and responsible lending requirements and how this impacts policy.
  • Knowledge in the analysis and income extraction/documentation of PAYG and valuation reports.
  • Solid understanding of the retail lending policies, processes and procedures and application of these when completing loan verification at origination.
  • Ability to easily grasp complex transactions and analyse the benefits of the idea of specific client circumstances.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to look for issues, not simply react to them.
