Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Vascular Laboratory assists in the coordination of all activities performed in the Laboratory, including performing vascular imaging studies.

 

Compensation Pay Range:

$45.45 - $61.17

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1 - Coordinates and assists in all activities performed in the Vascular Laboratory.
a.    Runs Vascular Lab completely in absence of supervisor and lead technologist. 
b.    Works with supervisor on a daily basis to coordinate lab activities. 
c.    Performs assigned tasks as well as performs exams. 

2 – Coordinates with patient care teams to ensure accurate and timely exams. 

3 – Maintains reports, records and collects statistics.
a.    All patient preliminary reports are sent via Visage to the reading radiologists or vascular surgeon.

4 – Assures delivery of quality vascular ultrasound studies demonstrating competency in all studies while following guidelines/protocols provided by the IAC.
a.    Quality of vascular studies are monitored continuously.
b.    Recognizes normal vs abnormal anatomy.

5 – Acts as an educational resource to patients, observing students and coworkers.
a.    Assists with orientation of new staff members or students as requested.

6 – Assures that all equipment is functioning properly.
a.    Checks equipment daily.
b.    Notifies supervisor of equipment malfunction.

7 – Participates in the holiday rotation. 

8 – Participates in quality improvement audits and meetings. 

9 – Responsible for maintaining credentials and CME requirements for registration. 
 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

Associates degree or certification through an accredited ultrasound program OR Bachelor’s degree in ultrasound or radiologic field

Minimum Work Experience

1-2 years of Vascular Ultrasound work experience

Required Licenses / Registrations

Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)

Required additional Knowledge and Abilities

a.    Carotid
b.    Upper and lower extremity venous including venous insufficiency
c.    Upper and lower arterial duplex including bypass grafts and stents
d.    PVR
e.    Mesenteric arterial duplex
f.    Fistulas

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH), INSTRUCTOR- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
