Under the general direction of the System Director of Sourcing, Contracting and Value Analysis, this position is responsible for evaluating medical products, services, and technologies to optimize cost-effectiveness while maintaining or improving patient care quality. This role involves conducting comprehensive analyses to support evidence-based decision-making in healthcare procurement, technology adoption, resource allocation, and financial mitigation strategies. Using objective research and clinical outcome data, the position provides clinical and business/financial strategic expertise that facilitates supply expense management while continuously reviewing and improving processes that support clinical patient care. This position will work with system clinical care and supply chain teams to assist them in contract implementations and conversions. Acts as a primary liaison between leadership (executive, divisional, departmental, and clinical), front line clinical, and supply chain staff to ensure cost-effective utilization of products, services, and processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related clinical specialty, healthcare business, finance, economics or equivalent experience highly required.
  • Prefer active RN licensure or equivalent 5-10 years’ experience in clinical healthcare setting
  • Minimum 3-5 years in a healthcare organization that provided experience in areas such as healthcare finance, supply chain, clinical operations, and/or leadership role.
  • Previous project management experience, demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects that required developing project milestones and monitoring that lead to successful completion
  • Prefer knowledge of healthcare reimbursement systems and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare technologies
  • Project and change management skills, including initiating, planning and design, executing, monitoring, closing and post-event evaluating
  • Ability to work in an independent proactive manner managing multiple concurrent projects involving internal customers, external suppliers, and other shareholders
  • Analytic skills to perform Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), cost/benefit, and financial feasibility analysis
  • Ability to document finding and analyses, including system and business relationships
  • Ability to proactively prioritize responsibilities and goals
  • Previous experience using health care data sets to make data-driven decisions
  • Knowledge of Integrated Delivery Networks, hospital organizational structures, and hospital staff structures including but not limited to clinicians (physicians and nurses), peri-op, cardiovascular interventional services, laboratory, radiology/IR, pharmacy, other clinical disciplines
  • Ability to use good judgment when performing the functions of the job or when interacting with others
  • Establish and maintain long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations
  • Communicate clearly, with concise dialog to all team members, delivering accurate information and direction with the ability to communicate effectively with clinical health care professionals
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint; and has the ability to learn new software programs
  • Functional working knowledge of clinical and surgical supply, supply chain processes, and SKU maintenance processes
