What You Will Do

Ready to make an impact? Join us in redefining the world through innovation! As a Corporate Affairs Co-op, you’ll support Amgen’s internal and external communications efforts that strengthen engagement, alignment, and connection across our global organization. Working with a collaborative and purpose-driven team, you’ll learn how communications help build company culture and reputation.

  • Assist with internal communications: Draft, edit, and post internal content such as employee spotlights, event recaps, and organizational announcements for platforms like SharePoint, newsletters, or Viva Engage (Yammer).
  • Support digital channels: Help update and maintain Amgen’s internal communications sites and measure engagement through analytics or feedback tools.
  • Event coordination: Provide logistical and administrative support for corporate or community events (e.g., scheduling, materials prep, attendee communications, day-of setup).
  • Research and benchmarking: Conduct background research on communications trends, employee engagement ideas, or best practices in corporate storytelling.
  • Creative collaboration: Partner with graphic designers and copywriters to brainstorm ideas for visual and written content that reflects Amgen’s mission and values.
  • Project tracking: Help maintain calendars, content trackers, and project documentation to support smooth team operations.
  • Learning opportunities: Attend team meetings, shadow Corporate Affairs leaders, and participate in workshops or mentorship sessions to deepen your understanding of corporate communications within the biotech industry.

Basic Qualifications:

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Pursuing or have completed at least 3 years of study in Communications, Public Relations, Advertising and/or Event Production
  • Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university


Preferred Qualifications

  • Flexibility to participate in the program for 6 months up to 1 year.
  • Passion for communications, corporate affairs, public relations, or event production with a strong interest in storytelling and employee engagement.
  • Knowledge managing or contributing to digital communication tools such as SharePoint, Viva Engage, email newsletters, or intranet sites.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a professional environment.
  • Basic understanding of event planning and execution, including vendor and logistics management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint); familiarity with design or communication tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive mindset, creativity, and enthusiasm for driving engagement and advancing Amgen’s mission and values.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
