This role is in support of Cencora's distribution services in the US operating through our AmerisourceBergen business

This position will lead, plan, develop, organize, and monitor Cencora’s national transportation and logistics including internal and contracted delivery system networks.

  • Develop a national transportation strategy that aligns with Cencora’s objectives.

  • Evaluates and compares existing transportation-related expenses; analyzes results and develops specific actions for cost reduction and improvement to direct reports for execution. 

  • Responsible for developing logistic strategies to meet the changing market conditions, customer requirements and competitive demands of the healthcare industry 

  • Manage corporate relationship with carrier partners. 

  • Provide strong leadership by setting clear expectations, fostering accountability for both team members and self, and driving performance excellence. Cultivate a highly engaged team environment through effective communication, collaboration, and a commitment to professional growth and development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Manage freight strategies at the customer level, ensuring timely delivery of customer orders.

  • Develop alternate delivery logistics options to meet the expectations of the customer.

  • Provides monthly expense estimates, actual and drivers to Finance.

  • Lead in the negotiation of carrier agreements

  • Analyze and develop alternative delivery options.

  • Ensure that communications and cooperative relationships are established and functioning between all departments regarding freight strategies

  • Reviews weekly/monthly/quarterly performance metrics with direct reports to identify action plans for improvement. Holds team accountable to develop plans and timelines to achieve expected results 

  • Collaborates and supports other business leaders on strategic enterprise initiatives as needed

  • Work with Transportation Compliance Manager to ensure compliance with DOT, Hazardous Materials regulations and Import/Export laws.

Education:

  • Typically a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • Two or more years of transportation/distribution/logistics experience with a preference in pharmaceutical/veterinary industry management.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrate sound administrative and organizational skills, well-developed management skills.

Salary Range*

$124,000 - 190,850

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
