Company Profile: 

In the summer of 2021, Repsol expanded its renewables operations to the US through the acquisition of a large U.S.-based PV solar and battery storage project developer.  This transaction was Repsol's first foray into the U.S. renewables market. In 2024, Repsol made another strategic acquisition of ConnectGen from Quantum Capital Group. Repsol Renewables Services North America (“RRSNA”) is targeting to own and operate 3-4 GW of renewable capacity in North America by 2027.

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic, personable, and professional Transmission Intern for our summer program to join our team!

This is a twelve (12) week program starting May 18, 2026 – August 7, 2026, in Downtown Houston.    

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the project analysis and siting of greenfield renewable energy generation by building production cost and powerflow models for regions of interest for renewable and storage development.
  • Review transmission plans and ensure that powerflow and energy market models are up to date for internal analysis.
  • Gather the data and intelligence from Interconnection queues, ISO/RTO energy markets, historical congestion and LMP (Locational Marginal Price).
  • Develop innovative tools and approaches to enhance review of power systems across the U.S.
  • Improve data management processes, process automation, increasing efficiency and organization of data storage.

Requirements: 

  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness. 
  • Assist in managing several projects simultaneously. 
  • Assist in providing timely assessments with limited information and/or assumptions. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work/student visa
  • Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in undergraduate or graduate electrical engineering or a related discipline degree program.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, including exceptional attention to details and ability to multitask. 
  • Must be a very good communicator, with good relationship skills and the ability to build relationships in a multi – cultural environmental.
