Responsibilities:

  • Manage trade capture of Interest Rate Derivatives and FX transactions, assisting the Derivatives Trading and Sales teams, and establishing/improving internal controls and visibility

  • Monitor the daily valuations of derivative holdings to ensure proper valuation, providing necessary information for the collateral management process, accounting, and performance reporting

  • Co-ordinate the collateral management process across the derivatives product landscape

  • Review reconciliations of positions and market values with parties to agree/disagree margin calls.

    • Coordinate with front office trading / sales and operations to resolve discrepancies

  • Provide daily review to trading and risk management of all derivative counterparty positions and exposures

  • Assist the trading/sales desk in streamlining processes, implementing forward thinking technology solutions, helping to manage risk, provide client support

  • Serve as the control point between the Front Office and Back Office departments throughout the life cycle of a transaction

  • Internal Controls: ensuring following of the procedures, KPIs and KRIs, sample testing

  • Manage margin processing and validation of daily mark-to-market valuations

  • Recommend enhancements and work with product management to prioritize these including user acceptance testing

  • Help drive change within organization to improve the way clients interact with TCB

Work experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of middle office experience

Competencies:  

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Legal Studies, and/or similar discipline

  • Strong knowledge of middle office trade support functions, derivative products

  • Working knowledge of CFTC and Dodd-Frank regulations

  • Proficient understanding of derivatives pricing

  • Experience working with large data sets

  • Strong organizational/time management skills and attention to detail

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication

  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle challenging deadlines

  • Resilient team player with a can-do attitude

  • Knowledge of investment banking products and industry trends

  • Proficient in Excel

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
