To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add The “Trade Manager” will be based in …Guadalajara North…., reporting to …Trade Manager…This role will be In charge of Global Trade Compliance projects and ensuring that industry best practices are implemented in conjunction with established Flex compliance procedures.
What a typical day looks like:
- In depth knowledge of import/export laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Administer strategic plans and goals for Global Trade.
- Develop and deliver company-wide training programs.
- Drive strategies and initiatives at the regional and site level to deliver Global Trade cost savings initiatives.
- Enhance relationships with government trade authorities as needed.
- Develop and deploy audit/assessment programs.
- Interface directly with stakeholders to identify, prioritize and execute trade policy.
- Define requirements for IT solutions that enhance trade activities.
- Deliver trade metrics and analytics to enhance trade policy and accountability.
- Participate in compliance investigations and reviews.
- Participate in trade risk management strategies.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent experience and training.
Masters Business Administration is preferred.
Knowledge of International Trade and Tariffs - Understanding of customs regulations, tariff codes (HS codes), trade agreements, and import/export policies. Skilled in interpreting documents such as invoices, purchase orders (POs), certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
Data Validation and Control - Cross-checking commercial documents against internal systems to ensure data consistency. Detection of discrepancies in unit prices, quantities, and tariff classifications.
Process Automation - Development of dashboards and automated reports to monitor claims. Implementation of workflows that reduce manual errors and improve efficiency.
Cross-Functional Communication and Collaboration - Coordination with Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and Trade teams to resolve discrepancies.
Claims Management - Tracking of tariff claim cases with customs authorities or suppliers. Documentation and traceability of each stage in the claims process.
Data Analysis - Advanced proficiency in tools such as Excel, Power BI, for analyzing large datasets. Ability to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement in tariff claim processes Clear presentation of findings and data-driven recommendations.
