Tooling Intern - Ditch Witch

The 2026 Summer Internship Program will run from May 18, 2026, through August 7, 2026. Candidates must be available to start on May 18 and participate through the duration of the program.

Ditch Witch (a TTC brand) is located in Perry, OK. Ditch Witch specializes in the design and manufacture of underground construction equipment. The company is a leading source for trenchers, horizontal directional drilling systems, vacuum excavation, and other equipment.  

What Will You Do? 

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for: 

  • This 12 - week internship opportunity will bring a host of challenging and fulfilling projects and experience in the world of manufacturing. Coming out of this internship, an individual will have a better understanding of "design for manufacturability & assembly (DFMA)", theory of constraints, drafting, and automation.
  • Learning drafting techniques and standards to relay design information to the shop floor
  • Designing a robotic weld fixture to both hold and assemble parts for robotic welding
  • Learning the principles of tooling design
  • Participating in "round table reviews" with cross functional team members to discuss manufacturability of parts.
  • Designing assembly aids to help in the assembly of Ditch Witch products

  

What Do You Need? 

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements: 

  • Completion of Sophomore year (at least 60 credit hours completed)
  • Enrollment in an applicable ABET accredited engineering program (industrial, mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, etc.)
