Team & Role Description

Our team is responsible for the end-to-end electrical validation of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA), from early-stage design and board bring-up to sustaining engineering and resolving field issues. This is a critical role on an incredibly important team, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of reliability, which is paramount to ensuring safety. The new hire will have access to an exceptional lab space and will be pivotal in making our products robust and dependable for mass production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 6 engineers and 2 technicians, setting goals, managing priorities, and fostering individual growth.
  • Serve as the hands-on technical lead for PCBA electrical validation as well as module and system level validation. 
  • Drive sustaining engineering efforts, including root cause and corrective action (RCCA) for issues found in the field.
  • Collaborate with and influence key cross-functional partners, including Hardware Systems, Safety, Test organizations, and Electrical Engineering (EE).
  • Address and improve communication challenges within the team to enhance collaboration and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

We are seeking a Technical Lead Manager (TLM) with deep, hands-on technical expertise.

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership or management role.
  • Expertise in PCBA electrical validation, including both module and system-level validation for low-voltage, mass-produced consumer electronics.
  • Demonstrated experience with board bring-up.
  • Strong focus on product reliability. Experience with safety standards (e.g., from an organization like Apple) is beneficial, but the primary focus is on reliability.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders.

The base salary range for this position is $197,000,000-$315,000 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
