The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Tier II Systems Administrator to join our Tier II technical operations and maintenance team on a contract supporting Department of Homeland Security. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on support for system administration and technical operations in a 24/7/365 enterprise environment. You’ll monitor systems, respond to alerts, assist with troubleshooting, and collaborate with senior engineers to resolve incidents and complete routine service requests. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow their IT systems and operation experience in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and respond to system and network alerts, escalating complex issues to senior staff as needed.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical incidents in coordination with Tier III and other engineering teams.
• Support incoming escalations from the Service Desk and other support teams.
• Perform regular system health checks and assist with maintenance tasks on servers and infrastructure systems.
• Document incident details and resolutions accurately in ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools.
• Complete routine service requests such as user account management (Active Directory accounts, passwords, permissions, and group memberships).
• Support software patching, updates, and scheduled maintenance activities under senior engineer guidance.
• Communicate with end users to provide updates and assist with basic technical issues.
• Participate in knowledge sharing by updating internal documentation, SOPs, and job aids.
• Cross-train to expand skills in areas such as network administration, system monitoring, and enterprise support.
• Perform additional tasks and project support as assigned by senior team members or management.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance
• Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD) - Active EOD preferred
• BA/BS + 1 year of applicable experience
• ITIL Foundation certification (not required to start but expected to attain in first six months)
• Flexibility to work any of the following shifts to provide coverage:
• MON – FRI 10am– 6pm
• MON – FRI 6am – 2pm
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly (servers, switches, virtual hosts, etc.)
Desired:
• Previous DHS or DoD experience
• Experience with patch management software (e.g., SCCM)
• Experience using Service Now service management software (or similar tool) to track incidents and service requests through the full lifecycle
• The following certifications are highly desired:
• Microsoft Windows administrator certifications
• COMPTIA A+, or Network+, or Security+
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• ITILv4 Foundation
• Knowledgeable of Problem Management best practice and processes

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$61,100 - $122,200
