About the Role

The primary purpose of the Thrive Café Attendant role is to support the daily operations of the Thrive Café, ensuring a welcoming environment and excellent customer service for all patrons. This role contributes to creating a positive and inclusive community atmosphere while maintaining high standards in food and beverage preparation and service.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Provide a warm, friendly, and responsive service to all customers, ensuring they feel welcome and valued.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by monitoring the quality of food and beverages and responding to feedback.
  • Handle customer concerns or complaints professionally and escalate to the Line Manager as required.
  • Identify and refer customers who may need additional support to the Line Manager, Corps Officer, or Administration staff.

Barista & Café Service

  • Greet customers, share information about menu items or specials, and process orders and payments accurately.
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages, including sandwiches, baked goods, coffee, and tea.
  • Grind and blend coffee beans, brew drinks to standard, and package food and beverages for takeaway sales.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the café area in line with hygiene and safety requirements.

What You Will Bring

  • Experience as a Barista, with strong skills in food handling and customer service.
  • Understanding of Safe Food Handling practices and compliance with the Food and Beverages Act.
  • A friendly and approachable attitude with a genuine passion for hospitality and community connection.
  • A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
