Job Summary: This National Guard position is for a THEATER AEROSPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND AND CONTROL SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1505000 and is part of the FL HQ 101 AOG, National Guard.

Major Duties:

  • As a Theater Aerospace Operations Command and Control Specialist, GS-2101-11, you will administer refresher and advanced training to ANG military AOC weapons systems positional specialists. Instructs and evaluates AOC assigned technician personnel in advanced aerospace operations applications using current AOC weapons systems of record. Instructs and evaluates enlisted AOC specialties to become instructors. Instructs same to function within established joint doctrinal principles to support the planning and prosecution of theater level joint operations. Monitors progress during training and advises when AOC personnel are ready for positional certification. Interviews assigned enlisted AOC personnel to determine operational background in their respective weapons systems/specialties. Prescribes type, sequence, and extent of required training. Performs as instructor and/or examiner, evaluating and examining AOC personnel to determine preparation for the application of aerospace force/operations, proficiency during actual operations, instructional ability, technical competence, and post operations critique. Determines progress and proficiency levels, provides requalification evaluations, and directs/provides specialized remedial or additional training as necessary.

Qualifications: AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. First consideration will be given to Category 1. Recruitment Incentive: May be paid to the candidate who is "newly appointed" into this federal government position. The bonus will be NTE $10,000. Payment will be a lump sum payment at the beginning of employment. The candidate must agree in writing to remain in this position for a minimum of 12 months, and if they vacate that position for another technician, AGR or active-duty service position within the initial 12-month period, the Incentive may be recouped. Current onboard technicians, if selected, are not eligible for this bonus. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation. MILITARY GRADE(S): Enlisted; E3 thru E7 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS11 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-10 level or the equivalent which provided a working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and federal civilian or military personnel programs. Experience, education, or training routine and non-routine preflight, in-flight, post-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions. Receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems.
