Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Test Conductor - Instrumentation Installation to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test & Evaluation organization. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Note: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

As a Test Conductor, you will assist with early design and standup of workshop spaces and posture for large-scale build and installation activities for complex test data acquisition system architectures for Ground, Flight, and Lab Test across multiple sites. The selected individual must have the technical and soft skills to enable them to lead the Operations Engineers and Flight Test Technicians through all facets of the statement of work, from fabrication to installation. This position requires a broad skillset in the area of instrumentation, electrical harness assembly, mechanical assembly and installation, and sensor operations.

Desire to work in a fast-paced work environment and excellent communication skills are essential. Candidate must have a willingness to embrace change and work in a dynamic environment. 25% travel to support program activities and integration will be required.

Essential Functions:

  • Execute across multiple projects, test articles, and manufacturing sites in a high-pace production manufacturing environment

  • Interface with production manufacturing leadership for build status, work order sequencing, resource support, and installation deconfliction

  • Assist in identifying and communicating changes / drivers to our SOW to team and program leadership

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management plan for the instrumentation team

  • Facilitate / coordinate manufacturing needs across sites, Customers, Vendors, and Suppliers

  • Collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, interfacing with IPT leadership, suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines.

  • Must be available for flexible working shifts as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent with 6 years of related professional/military experience OR an Associate of Science degree with 4 years of related professional/military experience OR a Bachelor of Science degree with 2 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree with 0 years of related professional/military experience.

  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing/modifying production floor workshop layouts at multiple sites for efficiency, 5S principles, and specialized fabrication. Includes outfitting toolboxes and workspaces with specialized hand tools and test equipment in compliance with Facilities, Environmental, Safety, and Health requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a production manufacturing environment, instrumentation, electrical harness assembly, mechanical assembly and installation, and sensitive test equipment, and sensors

  • Demonstrated performance in technician training (specification and procedure knowledge, workmanship, quality, efficiency, team communication)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of flight test policies and procedures

Primary Level Salary Range: $70,200.00 - $105,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
